Edit a financial goal
To edit a goal, open the Plan tab, scroll to Goals, and click the goal you want to change. Update the target, the date, or any linked accounts, then save. To delete a goal entirely, use the delete action on the same screen.
How to do it
- From the Dashboard, click the Plan tab.
- Scroll to the Goals section.
- Click the goal you want to edit.
- Update any of the fields: target amount, target date, linked debts or accounts, goal type.
- Click Save. The progress calculation rebuilds immediately against the new target.
Common questions
What happens to my progress history when I change the target?
The history stays. ClarityTrack stores monthly snapshots so you can see the trajectory regardless of how the target evolved. The progress percentage on the dashboard recomputes against the new target going forward.
Can I change a goal type, like from Emergency Fund to FI Number?
You can, but the calculation changes too. Switching from a savings target (FI Number) to an emergency fund target re-anchors the math against different inputs. Better to delete the old goal and add a new one cleanly when the underlying concept changes.
Can Clarity edit goals for me?
Yes. Ask Clarity something like "bump my emergency fund target to $20,000" and Clarity will preview the change and ask you to confirm before saving.
