Disconnect a bank account
To disconnect a bank, open the Banks tab, find the account, and click the disconnect option in its menu. Transactions stop syncing and the Plaid connection is revoked.
How to do it
- From the Dashboard, click the Banks tab.
- Find the bank you want to disconnect.
- Click the menu (three-dot or chevron icon) next to the bank.
- Click Disconnect.
- Confirm the disconnection.
What happens after you disconnect
- Transaction syncing stops immediately.
- Past transactions stay in ClarityTrack (they are not deleted).
- Any debts you linked to the disconnected accounts remain tracked manually.
- The Plaid access token is revoked. You can connect the bank again later if needed.
Common questions
Will my past transactions be deleted?
No. Disconnecting only stops future sync. Your transaction history stays on file. To remove past transactions, delete them individually from the Transactions tab or delete your account entirely (see account/delete-account).
Can I disconnect a single account without disconnecting the whole bank?
Plaid connects at the institution level, so disconnecting a bank disconnects all its accounts at once. To track only some accounts going forward, you would reconnect the bank and re-select which accounts to share.
I want to reconnect the same bank later. Will my transaction history be preserved?
Yes. Reconnecting the same bank reattaches to the existing transaction history. Plaid will resync recent transactions and continue from there.
