Import debts from a CSV file
To bulk-import debts, open the Plan tab and click Import CSV. Upload a spreadsheet with columns for name, starting balance, current balance, APR, and minimum payment. ClarityTrack previews the import and asks you to confirm before saving.
How to do it
- Prepare a CSV file with these columns:
name(text)startingBalance(number)currentBalance(number)interestRate(number, as a percentage)minimumPayment(number)
- From the Dashboard, click the Plan tab.
- Click Import CSV.
- Upload your file.
- Review the parsed rows in the preview dialog.
- Fix any errors flagged in the preview, then click Confirm.
Common questions
Can I download a template?
The Import dialog includes a template download link. The template has the exact column headers and a couple of example rows.
What if a row is invalid?
The preview dialog flags any row with missing or invalid data. You can fix the source CSV and re-upload, or skip the invalid row and import the rest.
Will importing replace my existing debts?
No. Import only adds new debts; it never deletes or modifies existing ones. If a debt name matches an existing debt, the import flags it as a potential duplicate so you can decide whether to skip or rename.
Can Clarity help with this?
Yes. From inside the app, paste your debt list into Clarity (one debt per line, with the numbers) and ask "import these as new debts." Clarity will preview them and ask you to confirm.
