Fix a missing or wrong interest rate
Some banks (Credit One is a common one) do not report an interest rate to ClarityTrack, so a connected card can show "APR unknown" and rank last in your payoff order even when it is actually your most expensive debt. Tell Clarity the real rate and it corrects it immediately - for manual debts and for connected bank accounts alike.
How to do it
- Ask Clarity to rank your debts ("which debts cost me most?") - anything showing "APR unknown" is a candidate.
- Tell Clarity the real rate: "the card ending in 1602 is 27.9%."
- Clarity previews the change (old value to new value).
- Confirm. The ranking, avalanche/snowball order, and every interest projection update immediately.
Setting several rates in a row works the same way, one at a time - Clarity tracks which accounts are still unset and asks for the next one.
Common questions
My card has two rates - a purchase APR and a cash advance APR. Which one do I give Clarity?
Tell Clarity both rates and the balance on each. It computes the balance-weighted blended rate and shows you the math before applying it, so the ranking reflects what the card is actually costing you.
Will this survive if I disconnect and reconnect the bank?
Yes. ClarityTrack carries a manually-set rate forward to the new connection automatically when you reconnect the same bank.
Does this work for manually-added debts too?
Yes, the same way - editing a manual debt's APR is the same conversational flow as a connected account's.
