Tip: You can also ask Clarity this question directly inside the app.
Entry point: Plan tab (debt row, Log payment action)

Log a payment against a debt

To log a payment, open the Plan tab, find the debt, and click Log payment. Enter the amount and date, then save. The payment reduces the debt balance and updates your monthly progress.

How to do it

  1. From the Dashboard, click the Plan tab.
  2. Find the debt and click Log payment.
  3. Enter the amount.
  4. Set the payment date (defaults to today).
  5. Optional: add a note.
  6. Click Save.

Common questions

I have a bank connected. Do I still need to log payments manually?

Not always. If your bank account is connected and the payment shows up as a transaction, you can mark that transaction as a payment instead. This auto-logs the payment without you re-entering the amount.

I forgot to log a payment from last month. Can I backdate it?

Yes. Set the payment date to any date in the past. ClarityTrack accepts backdated payments and recalculates progress accordingly.

Can Clarity log a payment for me?

Yes. Ask Clarity something like "log a $400 payment on my Chase card from yesterday." Clarity will preview the payment and ask you to confirm before saving.

Why is my "above the line" status changing after I log a payment?

The above-the-line / below-the-line status compares your year-to-date payments against your monthly target, prorated to today's date. Logging a payment moves you closer to (or above) your target for the period.
