Add a note to a transaction
You can attach a private note to any Plaid-imported transaction. Notes are only visible to you and are stored separately from your bank data.
How to do it
Ask Clarity:
"Add a note to my $47 Uber Eats charge from Friday — this was a team lunch."
Or from the Transactions tab, open any transaction and type in the notes field.
What you can annotate
- A free-text note (up to any length)
- A context override (reassign the transaction to a different context, e.g. from Personal to RH Consulting)
Common questions
Does the note affect my bank account?
No. Notes are stored in ClarityTrack only and are not sent back to your bank or Plaid.
Can I search by note content?
Ask Clarity to search your transactions — it can find transactions by merchant, amount, date, or note content.
Can I remove a note?
Yes. Ask Clarity to clear the note on a transaction, or open the transaction detail and delete the note text.
