Delete a debt

To delete a debt, open the Plan tab, click the debt to open its detail page, and click Delete. The debt and its payment history are permanently removed.

How to do it

  1. From the Dashboard, click the Plan tab.
  2. Click the name of the debt you want to delete.
  3. On the debt detail page, click Delete.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

When to delete vs mark as paid

Common questions

Can I undo a delete?

No. Debt deletes are permanent. The debt row and its associated balance history and manually-logged payments are removed.

What happens to the bank transactions that were linked to this debt?

Linked transactions are not deleted. They become unlinked and revert to their original category in the Transactions tab. You can re-link them to another debt later if needed.

Can Clarity delete a debt for me?

Yes. Ask Clarity something like "delete my Citi card." Clarity will preview the deletion and ask you to confirm before running it. Same confirmation flow as the manual UI.
